CAST Your Anxiety on HIM

The famous verse in 1 Peter 5:7 and cross reference in Psalm 55:22 (Cast your cares on the Lord

and he will sustain you;

he will never let

the righteous be shaken.)

Is one that many a times I have resorted to when I was feeling overly anxious or worried. It is an easy one to share with a friend in need. And easy to go to when lying awake unable to turn our life worries off in our mind.

What does it mean to truly "cast" something at the Lord?

The use of "cast" in 1 Peter come from is the Greek word, "epiripto" which literally means to throw upon. Like our lovely visual I just explained to you.

Other meanings of the word: hurl, cast off by way of rejection, thrust out.

Sisters, we have such burdens to carry that the Lord wants to us to throw at Him! All your dirty laundry (figuratively, and for me right now, literally piles that are making my kids anxious that there are no more clothes coming), inabilities, not good enoughs, all the lies we let Satan tell us...all of the maybes and could be's and should be's and never-be's...those future worries that haven't unfolded yet but are in God's hands...throw them on Him.

And sleep well tonight.
